Hard Work | Day 03
January 6, 2021

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

Ephesians 2:8

Have you ever worked so hard for something, only to find out it was all for nothing? I remember years ago buying my first grill. Emily and I had just gotten married and I was ready to prove how manly I was in two different ways. One, I was going to cook on a grill (it doesn’t get more manly than that. Two, I was going to put this grill together with no instructions because, who needs those. Needless to say it went terrible and I found myself with with a grill that was put together completely wrong and a box full of leftover parts.

Grace is something you can’t work for. Trying to earn God’s love, trying to earn His grace and forgiveness is like trying to put something together without the instructions. You’ll never get it right. The instructions are in Ephesians 2:8. Grace is a gift, not earned.

Have you tried to earn God’s grace and forgiveness? How is that going? Romans tells us that we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s standard. The bad news is that there is nothing you could ever do to earn it. The debt is too high. The good news? Jesus paid the debt and offers grace and forgiveness free of charge. Exactly how you are. No clean up necessary. No needing to get it all together. Just come and receive forgiveness. Are you a believer who has fallen back into sin and you are trying to beat it on your own then you will get back to the whole Jesus thing? It will never work. Come to Jesus receive grace and mercy and help.

Maybe you don’t have a relationship with Jesus at all. Is it because you feel you’ve done too much, gone too far, have too much to make up for? Here’s the good news: Jesus already paid for it. Just come to him. If you are ready to take that step and want more info on how to start a relationship with Jesus; click the button below. We would love to help.

How can I know Jesus?

“God help me to see that there is nothing I could ever do to earn your grace, help, and forgiveness. That’s good news because you already paid the price through your son Jesus. Help me to live my life knowing that if and when I mess up, you are there waiting to forgive, waiting to show grace, and ready to help me move forward and become more like you.”
